Cesaroni Design: Case Study, Styling Model Design

Ergonomic Design	The design team's effective user interface development pointed the way to human factors research. Basic human factors data and ergonomic diagrams helped drive form development, which defined the size and shape of the enclosure. The dynamic curve of the enclosure creates a strong ergonomic angle for the user to load and unload paper. Further, ergonomic analysis included testing a styling model to gather observational research and feedback.
Styling Model Design	As form development moved forward, we reconfigured the internal mechanical layout. Through a careful study of user requirements, the components were arranged to hone in on the most effective configuration. Aesthetic and mechanical features were developed and fine-tuned by creating styling model geometry. Utilizing our new product development process, the design team developed a successful solution for the mechanical configuration, as well as developing an ergonomic design.
Styling Model Build	The purpose of building a styling model is to provide a 3D representation of the design for the client to see and touch. The styling model helped the development team evaluate the aesthetic and ergonomic design further. Although the concept model was aesthetically realistic, it was a non-functional model. The styling model made of foam was milled on a CNC machine from our styling model design.
