From concept sketches to color renderings to prototype design, Cummins-Allison Corporation collaborated with Cesaroni Design to create the next generation currency processing scanner. This currency handling machine represents a customer-centered design approach where user experience is the drive behind the development process.
The unit features a compact footprint and LCD touch-screen display that communicate a premium look. Its fresh organic aesthetics incorporate the advanced technology to sort and count currency with accuracy and efficiency.
All areas for human interaction and ergonomics, such as handles, controls, bill trays and service are clearly defined, accessible and operable with minimum effort and confusion. The side covers include two lower recessed handles for lifting the product.
An improved transport path is designed to process notes more efficiently, maximizing uptime and reducing jams. If a jam occurs, the operator simply pushes down on the two visible latches for full access to the transport path.
A full-color LCD display is located on the front of the unit for easy viewing and readability. The touch-screen enhances ease of use with its menu-driven design and simple navigation. Screens can be customized by the user to display only the buttons they use. Function keys change color to provide visual status indication further enhancing operator productivity. These navigational aids make the machine more user-friendly to the product operator.
