Digital Innovations teamed with Cesaroni Design
to develop a motorized version of the SkipDR
Original in response to consumer needs. The original device
required manual revolutions to turn the disc repair system.
The client wanted to eliminate this manual operation needed for repair and reduce the number of loose parts on the device.
Our product design team followed the established brand identity of the original design. The new product minimizes manual operation by incorporating a precision controlled process. The device requires no previous knowledge or experience for operation. Consumers can easily repair a disc the first time they try.
We integrated all the components necessary to repair discs in
one simple form. The components are stored in the top and bottom
of the handle. The product designers reduced the number of parts
in the original design. This new device is assembled from only
8 injection molded plastic parts.
