The Cesaroni Design industrial design firm
and Gateway developed this computer monitor. Gateway created
the core electromechanicals to define product specifications
and usability features. These details formed the basis for concept
development.
The ideation process focused on a distinctive look and feel
to help product branding. The new product design began with
sketches and was completed in CAD. Significant user and style
research drove the selection of the family look for the line.
This product design incorporates large intersecting curves and
a unique ventilation pattern. This vent pattern helps the product run at a
cooler temperature and exceeds standard requirements.
Our industrial designers raised the height of the device for
a more ergonomic sightline to the screen. Located below the
screen is a wheel control. This control allows users to scroll
through menu options and adjust a variety of image settings
(i.e. color, contrast, brightness, etc.).
This new product is an aesthetic counterpart for other Gateway
products. The design team kept the tower case and keyboard in
mind when developing this monitor. The top edge of the monitor
and bezel around the screen resemble the edge and bezel on the
tower case. The crescent shape in the base fits the obverse
crescent shape on the keyboard. This family look helps unify
Gateway products to create a harmonious line of computer equipment.
