The industrial designers at Cesaroni Design
worked closely with Allsteel's engineers to develop the mechanical
elements of this office table design.
The table legs are structured of extruded aluminum and the bases
of the legs are die-castings. The lightweight tabletop is made
from a honeycomb structure.
The project team developed a folding mechanism that is minimal
in size. This mechanism allows the tabletop to flip so tables
can nest tightly together for storage. Recessed release levers
located under the table are easy for occasional users to find
and require a short learning curve.
This office table design earned an IDEA Bronze and Good Design
Award.
