Design Team: Cesaroni Design & Pelouze

The industrial designers at Cesaroni Design along with the marketing and engineering teams at Pelouze redesigned their existing product line. In the fast pace of today's commercial kitchens, food service equipment must be designed properly for easy cleaning and sanitization.

The product design strategy was to improve the aesthetics, ergonomics, user interface and durability of the current line. The design team integrated smooth flowing surfaces into the stainless steel housing. This aesthetic design eliminates rectangular edges and hard to clean crevices, while making for an attractive finish.

The new product and its design components are removable without the use of tools. A washable design helps prevent cross contamination. Rustproof finishes are applied to the inside and outside to ensure a long lasting product.

The new platform acts as a built-in handle making the scale easy to carry. The large platform is designed with a drip rail to keep liquids contained. The dials are color coded for capacity identification.

The new angled dial with large graphics and shatterproof lens reduces the need for the user to stoop during measuring. The redesigned rotating dial simplifies multiple ingredient weighing. This feature allows the dial to be reset while adding more ingredients, without having to remove the previous item. Its alignment notch provides a precise and quick zero reset.
