Project Description: Consumer Products

Design Team: Cesaroni Design & Bladez, Inc.

Bladez came the Cesaroni Design firm with just a battery and a desire to develop and launch a new electric scooter brand within six months. The strategy was to create a recreational mode of transport targeted at teens and had to appear equal parts fun and durable.

Cesaroni Design is an award-winning design consulting company that is experienced in all aspects of product development. Functional considerations like ergonomics and battery life led the design team to develop a lightweight, welded steel frame that used minimal parts. The ION 350 could be folded to a compact size for storage and adjust to several user heights. The riding deck was also made out of one piece of injection-molded plastic, which made battery access even simpler for charging and servicing.

Identity was another key consideration given the target demographic. Bold colors and complex decals imparted a unique character to the ION 350 which helped it stand out in the marketplace.
